Tertiary Filtration

As a cloth media filter, AquaPyr Ultra Low Waste Filters are a great fit post clarifier in biological wastewater treatment plants.  Our 10 micron pile cloth can operate with filtrate qualities below 2 NTU average and take your 20 TSS / 20 BOD effluent to less than 5 TSS / 5 BOD in most cases.

Primary Filtration

An emerging application for cloth media filters in primary filtration, with the filter being placed between a municipal wastewater plant’s headworks/screening and aeration basin to reduce influent TSS and BOD levels by 40 to 60% in many cases.
AquaPyr’s patent pending self-cleaning but non-backwashing process generates ultra low waste volumes to be sent to the digester, dewatering, or plant EQ vs. the 10 – 20% that might be expected from other types of filtration in this application.
A great fit for overloaded, maxed out, smaller wastewater treatment facilities to extend capacity.

Cooling Tower

Reducing cooling tower TSS with side stream or full flow filtration reduces fouling, scaling, corrosion and operating cost of your cooling tower. A great fit for a gravity feed AquaPyr ULWF. Minimal power, minimal waste – Maximum benefit.

Surface Water Intake

Would you like to use less polymer and have less sludge? Put an AquaPyr ULWF in front of your flocculator clarifier and cut your chemical usage, improve your supernatant quality, and drop your sludge volumes.
Post Clarifier Polishing? AquaPyr? Absolutely. Plug and play in place of sand filters and cartridge filters.

MF/UF Backwash Water Recovery

Most MF and UF systems backwash 5 to 10% of the forward flow. That’s a lot of water!

Almost all MF and UF membrane manufacturers specify a 200 to 500 micron prefilter in front of their membranes.

Aquaculture & Aquaponics

Aquaculture and Aquaponics are affordable, sustainable practices to produce food for the masses without massive land or carbon footprints.
These processes also have biological oxygen demand (BOD) that require high energy aeration to dissolve oxygen into the water. Why not cut the demand? Filtered Solids = Lower BOD.
